We're the UK's leading biscuit manufacturer and number two in snacks. We're also the second largest manufacturer in France, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands.
Fast facts:
- We have been making biscuits for nearly 200 years and UB operate 16 factories in the UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands and India.
- Each UK household buys around 103 packs of biscuits a year which is nearly two packs each week.
- Around 25% of UB’s sales now come from outside the UK.
- The total biscuits category is worth £2.3bn and growing by 3%m, with the Bagged Snacks market currently worth £2.42bn and growing by 7%.
- The total cake category is worth £1bn.

- 52 McVitie’s Digestive biscuits are eaten per second in the UK.
- If you stacked all the Mini Cheddars produced in one day they would be 14 times the height of Mount Everest.
- Some 1.6 billion BN Smiling Biscuits are consumed in France each year.
- If you laid the 750 million McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes eaten each year end to end they would reach from London to Australia and back

Health and nutrition is important to our consumers and it is something we take very seriously. We’re proud to be a market leader in removing trans fats, artificial colours and artificial flavours from our products, as well as reducing their fat, salt and sugar content. Want to find out more?
- Go Ahead! is the UK’s number one healthier biscuit brand.
- UB products contained 11,000 tonnes less saturated fat in 2010 compared to 2005.
- UB is cutting salt and has achieved a 23% sodium reduction since 2005 across its biscuits and cakes categories, and an 18% sodium reduction across the crisps and snacks portfolio
- UB has a goal to remove all artificial colours and flavours from its products by 2015.
